NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE: Kanye West enters into a business deal to buy the microblogging platform Parler. The new business tie-up evolved after the rapper got locked out of Twitter and Instagram over his antisemitic posts. The deal has led Kanye to shake hands with the husband of conservative supporter Candace Owens - George Farmer, the CEO of the app.

Kanye has been in the news over his 'White Lives Matter' controversy, and also his recent appearance on NORE’s and DJ EFN’s Drink Champ's podcast also led to conversations on his take on Jews and Kris Jenner's relationship with Drake.

Farmer who appeared on Fox Business Monday confirmed the new business move of Kanye, who recently changed his name to Ye. He said, "The tweet that he put out last week, as far as I could understand it, was an incorrect reference to defcon, obviously worded very badly and I think that was, as he said yesterday, a mistake." Further he added, "He's obviously willing to have conversations that plenty of people want to have and I think that he's trying to engage in the free speech environment," reported DailyMail.

He also claimed, "Specific comments about his personal opinions, obviously I can't comment because I'm not him, but I would like to say that he's now in a place where he's fallen victim to the cancellation narrative," Farmer said. "Whether or not what he said offended some people, of course, is up for conversation." However, he stated in a press release, "This deal will change the world, and change the way the world thinks about free speech." However, the CEO did not mention the deal value for which Kanye reached to an agreement.

Kanye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again. Once again, Ye proves he is one step ahead of the legacy media narrative. Parlement will be honored to help him achieve his goals," he added. Whereas Kanye stated, "In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial, we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves."

However, in an interview given to Reuters, Famer also explained, "I see this as a warning shot across the bow for companies that want to de-platform people," Farmer said. "There are increasingly advertisers who want to advertise to this space.”

Parler is a Nashville-based app that was launched in 2018. It currently has 15 million registered users, reported BCC. The app has concentrated on conservationists and is a huge competitor to similar apps like Truth Social. Meanwhile, its parent company, Parlement Technologies announced it had raised $16M in funding, taking the total to $56M. CNN Business reveals that the app became popular with conservative politicians and media figures, peaking at an estimated 2.9 million daily users.

However, it also has a history of being removed from Apple I store, Google Play store after the officials were unable to handle the violent rhetoric on their platform after the Capitol attack. Kanye who initially had only 91 followers went on to have almost 3900 followers by the end of the day, reported Reuters.

'That is bad for every one of us'

The internet was quick to respond to Kanye's business move. Steven Crowder stated, "Kanye’s going to own Parler, Elon’s going to own Twitter, and Donald Trump owns Truth Social. It's a good time to be a Conservative." Frederick Joseph wrote, "Kanye bought white supremacist social media app, Parler, which Candace Owens’ husband is CEO of. Basically, @RealCandaceO is helping guide the decisions of one of the most influential people in the world, who may have a mental illness, and that is bad for every one of us."

Another user claimed, "As a student of Parler since inception, I agree with Kanye that his purchase of the platform will be transformative. It will go from a site with almost no users, to a site with almost no users and Kanye." Meanwhile, a tweet stated, "When you're banned from twitter and instagram and buy your own social platform. Big moves lmao." However, another tweet stated, "@kanyewest can you make it a decentralized social platform."

A tweet claimed, "Never heard." Another user tweeted, "lol candace owens is just stealing kanye's money. Faith Popcorn tweeted, "Terrifying." Another user claimed, "Yeah, we are all so heartbroken to learn this." " The genius is easily Konned," said another user. Further, a tweet claimed, "Cry about it. He can do what he wants."
